History

Hotel and restaurant activities since 1981!

1979
Construction for the hotel and restaurant is initiated.

1981
Hotel Levitunturi is completed and opens: 82 rooms in five accommodation buildings and a restaurant seating 250 diners.

1986
Spa and fitness centre completed – the first spa in Lapland!
The Pulju and Korsa accommodation buildings are completed, the hotel now provides 118 rooms. The Activity Centre is completed in the lower floor of the Pulju building.

1991
The meeting facility is completed.
Some of the fireplace lounges are changed into suites, the hotel now has 121 rooms.

1997
Renovation of spa and 17 rooms of the main building.

1998
the 9th accommodation building Sammal is completed – total rooms 148.
The kitchen and restaurant expansion from 543 seats to 750.
Taxi Station completed.

1999
Spa gets a new gym: New David-Center gym. Modernisation of Aakenus and Lainio buildings. Hotel now provides 150 rooms. Introduction of the first ATM.

2000
Modernisation of Kätkä and Kumpu buildings.

2002
Keimiö is demolished and replaced by a two-storey accommodation building. Total number of rooms is now 172. Modernisation of Pulju and Korsa accommodation buildings.
New ski waxing facility.

2004
Substantial extension of restaurant and kitchen. The new restaurant wing is completed with seats for 1500.

2009
Substantial spa renovation and construction of new hotel building begins in May. Modernisation of top floor rooms of Sammal building.

2010
the new hotel building Ounas is completed on 19 August, as is the fantastic new Spa Water World on 2 September. New bowling lanes, children's world, spa bistro and sport bar. Also spa treatment department is renovated.
